Abstract

Violence against women, unfortunately, continues to exist as a social problem in our country as well
as in the rest of the world. Various legal and administrative regulations have been enacted in our
country since the 1990s in order to eliminate violence against women. Awareness-raising activities
and efforts have been carried out for the same purpose at different levels of education. In addition to
legal sanctions targeting violence against women throughout the country, it is also important for us to
see the impact of those awareness-raising activities on young people. The changing and thus
developing attitudes and views of young people who grow up with this awareness are a significant
factor in determining whether violence against women will continue in the future. Measuring the
impact of all these efforts will guide the prevention of this problem.
The subject of this study is to find out and analyse the attitudes and views on violence against women
of young people studying at the Associate’s Degree level. As a result of the study, it was concluded
that the majority of the students from Sungurlu Vocational School of Hitit University have been
against violence towards women.
