Traditional Turkish Arts encompass different fields such as calligraphy, illumination, mural decoration, tile-making, bookbinding, and carpet weaving. While this diversity brings differences in infrastructure, application, production, and materials, it shows similarities through the motifs used in ornamentation. Various decorative elements such as vegetal, animal, geometric, and calligraphic forms are used across all traditional arts. In calligraphy, these motifs decorate the edges of the script, whereas in other art forms they constitute the artwork itself. When we examine the motifs used in Traditional Turkish Arts, fundamental decorative motifs such as leaves, hatayi, cloud, and rosebuds can be observed. Beyond their application in traditional Turkish arts, we anticipate that these motifs can also be adapted and used in original and diverse design fields. For this reason, in the design principles course of the Traditional Turkish Arts department, studies supporting this foresight were carried out. In order to limit the research topic, the cloud motif, which is one of the traditional Turkish art motifs, was selected, and practical studies were conducted regarding the use of this motif in plant and animal figures. In this way, it was aimed to contribute new designs and original works to the field.
