This work focuses on the revolutionary function of the cinema, the vision, against the ruling straight lineal understanding of formal literary history. The fact that the historical teaching is polluted by power and sovereign; at the point of establishing power, the construction of historical information around great narratives and heroic rituals has suppressed the powerless, the voice of the other, the history of the other. Today, however, "victorious, history of strength" is being tried to be dismissed with new approaches. Especially since the 60's, the function of the cinema that leaks into social sciences has enabled the creation of alternative counter historical information in micro and oral history studies. These studies, which destroyed the understanding of central history, also contributed to the creation of alternative memories. Rationally, he has made an impression on the emotional, revealing the importance of the power of emotion in reducing conflicts within society. At the point of transcending the essence of the writer's official history, the power of visualization was discovered in collecting new historical information from the voice of the person who experienced history itself, and the scope of documentary cinema has been expanded everyday in social sciences. In this context, this study focuses on the importance of documentary cinema against the understanding of official history, and performs an exemplary examination with the Lice Notebook documentary.
